His wife, Jhanvi Sethi, shared a poignant video of him singing 'Layi Vi Na Gayi' from the film 'Chalte Chalte' on social media, expressing her love and gratitude with the caption, 'My hero, thank you for every moment.' Jhanvi revealed that Vikas had been ill the day before his passing, suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, but had declined hospital treatment. When she attempted to wake him the next morning, he had already died in his sleep.
