9-Year-Old Wisconsin Girl Dies Crushed by Falling Tree During Storm

Rose Elizabeth Hendricks, a 9-year-old girl from Green Bay, Wisconsin, tragically died after a neighbor’s tree fell on her during a severe thunderstorm. Despite immediate rescue efforts by neighbors and firefighters who used a car jack to free her, Rose suffered fatal injuries including brain trauma, multiple skull fractures, and crushed heart and lungs. Her mother, Jayme Denamur, described Rose as a "miracle baby" who had survived two collapsed lungs at birth and defied medical expectations by living nine years. The family is grieving deeply, especially Rose’s brother who witnessed the accident and is struggling with the loss. A fundraiser has been launched to cover funeral expenses, raising nearly $17,500 in donations. The community has remembered Rose as a vibrant, artsy child who loved dancing, softball, video games, and spending time with her brother.
