FSB Thwarts ISIS-K Attack on Moscow Police

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted a terrorist attack planned by members of the ISIS-K group, who were preparing to detonate explosives at a police station in Moscow. The FSB stated that intelligence provided by the Taliban aided in the operation, leading to the neutralization of the attackers, who were identified as Tajik nationals. The suspects had acquired a vehicle loaded with propane gas cylinders and were assembling an improvised explosive device. Additionally, the FSB reported that they foiled an assassination plot orchestrated by Ukraine targeting a high-ranking Russian military officer and a pro-Kremlin blogger, involving a bomb disguised as a portable speaker. The arrested Russian national allegedly communicated with a Ukrainian intelligence officer regarding the bomb's retrieval. Russian officials condemned these assassination attempts, linking them to heightened tensions following recent military conflicts with Ukraine.
