Kneecap Wins Big at BIFA 2023

The Irish-language rap comedy 'Kneecap' triumphed at the British Independent Film Awards, winning seven prizes, including Best British Independent Film. Directed by Rich Peppiatt, the film features rappers Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, Naoise Ó Cairealláin, and JJ Ó Dochartaigh, who also won Best Joint Lead Performance. Peppiatt was awarded Best Debut Screenwriter, and the film dominated with 14 nominations, achieving accolades in categories like Best Casting and Best Original Music. 'Kneecap' has been a critical and commercial success, even winning a legal challenge against the UK government regarding funding.
