India Condemns Attacks on Hindu Temples in Bangladesh

India has expressed serious concern over a series of attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh, particularly during the Durga Puja festival. The Ministry of External Affairs condemned incidents such as the bombing of a Puja mandap in Dhaka and the theft of a crown from the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple, describing them as part of a systematic pattern of desecration. Indian authorities have called on the Bangladeshi government to ensure the safety of Hindus and other minorities, especially during this festive period. Reports indicate that the Hindu community has faced increased violence following the establishment of a military-backed interim government, raising fears of radical elements behind these attacks. In response, Bangladeshi police have arrested 17 individuals linked to related incidents, pledging to take strict action against further unrest. Despite these assurances, the Hindu minority in Bangladesh remains anxious and vulnerable amid escalating tensions.
