Multiple Shootings in US, Australia Investigated

Police are investigating multiple fatal and near-fatal shootings in the U.S. and Australia. In Lexington, Kentucky, officers responded to a reported shooting on East Seventh Street around 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 30; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner attended, and Lexington police ask anyone with information to call. In Somerton, Arizona, authorities say 40-year-old Ignacio Bedoy allegedly confronted his estranged wife, fatally shot a 31-year-old man, then fired blindly into an apartment before fleeing in a black Chevrolet Camaro; he is considered armed and dangerous and investigators are asking the public to contact Somerton Police or submit anonymous tips. In Melbourne’s Broadmeadows area a daylight shooting near Broadmeadows Shopping Centre/park left a man critically injured, police established a crime scene, recovered items nearby and are searching for the gunman. Separately in Melbourne, a brutal attack at a shopping centre left a man dead and police say a man has been arrested and is assisting investigators.
