Bristol Hit-and-Run: Driver Admits Guilt
James Doherty, 18, has admitted to causing a collision in Bristol that critically injured a four-year-old boy after his BMW left the road and struck the child in Long Cross, Lawrence Weston. Doherty, who fled the scene, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court. A woman also sustained a leg injury in the incident. Avon and Somerset Police are still seeking a woman who was reportedly in the car with Doherty and fled with him; she is described as having blonde hair and wearing a black puffer coat. The police urge anyone with information or CCTV footage to contact them as the investigation continues. The community has been reassured that a thorough investigation is underway, with officers and emergency services remaining at the scene.
