Porter Airlines Launches New Year-Round Flights To LaGuardia from Toronto

Porter Airlines is set to enhance its presence in the New York City area by launching year-round service from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) starting May 1, 2025. The new service will offer up to three daily round-trip flights on weekdays and two on weekends, utilizing the new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which features an innovative seating arrangement with no middle seats and complimentary Wi-Fi. This expansion is part of Porter's broader growth strategy, which has seen its workforce nearly double and fleet expansion with new aircraft since early 2023. The airline's operations at LaGuardia will be based in the recently renovated Terminal B, providing passengers access to premium lounges and seamless connections to its domestic network and JetBlue's services. Porter previously operated flights exclusively to Newark Liberty International Airport but aims to compete with major carriers like Air Canada, which offers significantly more daily flights on the same route. This initiative underscores Porter's commitment to capturing a larger market share in the competitive New York-Toronto travel sector.
