Arkansas Couple Arrested for Selling Baby

An Arkansas couple, Darien Urban (21) and Shalene Ehlers (20), were arrested for allegedly attempting to sell their two-month-old baby for a six-pack of beer and $1,000 at the Hide Away Campground in Benton County. The parents signed a contract with Cody Martin to relinquish their parental rights, which included a clause preventing future contact. Witnesses reported that the baby appeared neglected and in need of medical attention, prompting law enforcement to involve emergency medical services. The infant was taken to a hospital and is now under the care of the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Both Urban and Ehlers face charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and attempting to accept consideration for relinquishment of a minor.
