Punjab Police Arrest Two in Major Drug Bust

Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough in drug enforcement by arresting two smugglers and seizing 6.655 kg of heroin and ₹6 lakhs in cash near the Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur. The operation was executed by the Counter Intelligence Agency following technical intelligence regarding a drone-dropped narcotic consignment. The arrested individuals, Simran Kaur and Gurjot Singh, both have criminal backgrounds, and investigations are ongoing to trace their connections to a Pakistan-based smuggler. This operation is part of a broader initiative by Punjab Police, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's directives, to eradicate drug networks across the state. Additionally, a state-level operation named 'Operation Eagle V' was conducted recently, resulting in the arrest of 82 individuals and the seizure of various drugs across Punjab. The police remain committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks to ensure public safety.
