Kia Unveils Redesigned Telluride for 2027 Model Year, Skipping 2026

Kia has announced that the popular midsize, three-row SUV Telluride will skip the 2026 model year as it prepares to launch its second generation for the 2027 model year, with sales beginning in early 2026. The redesigned Telluride previews a more muscular and angular design, incorporating Kia's latest design language and vertical LED lighting reminiscent of the EV9 electric SUV, while retaining a functional grille for cooling, indicating continued use of internal combustion or hybrid engines. The upcoming model likely shares powertrains with the Hyundai Palisade, including a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a hybrid option with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and dual electric motors delivering 329 horsepower, both available with front- or all-wheel drive. The new Telluride is expected to be slightly larger than its predecessor, mirroring the Palisade's increased length and wheelbase, which will enhance third-row space. Kia's teaser images also reveal design features such as a floating roof and a large rear glass panel to improve natural light inside the cabin. Despite being in its sixth year, the current Telluride continues to see strong sales growth in the U.S., underscoring its popularity as Kia prepares to extend its market dominance with the all-new model.
