Emily in Rome Teaser; Assistant Director Dies

Netflix released a teaser and trailer announcing Emily in Paris Season 5 will premiere on December 18, 2025, and centers on Emily’s move to Rome (with scenes in Venice) as she heads Agence Grateau’s Rome office. The preview and official synopsis show Emily juggling professional and romantic challenges — including a work idea that backfires and a secret that threatens a close relationship — and emphasize a budding romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). The montage reunites Lily Collins with series regulars Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Bruno Gouery, Samuel Arnold and William Abadie and introduces newcomers Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg and Michèle Laroque; Gabriel and Alfie do not appear in the trailer though the actors are listed as returning. Production in Italy was briefly suspended after assistant director Diego Borella reportedly collapsed and died on set, according to reports. Creator Darren Star indicates the season will ultimately return to Paris.
