His coaching experience includes roles with collegiate programs and a successful stint as the Yankees' hitting coach in 2022, where the team excelled in home runs. Lawson replaces Luis Ortiz, joining Pete Fatse's coaching team alongside Ben Rosenthal, with the aim to enhance the Red Sox's offensive capabilities for the 2025 season.
