Maddalena scored 463.0 points, finishing just behind Switzerland’s Chiara Leone, who set a new Olympic record with 464.4 points. This achievement comes after Maddalena's previous fifth-place finish in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics. The California native, who has a distinguished career in shooting, began her journey with the California Grizzlies junior team and later represented the University of Alaska Fairbanks Rifle Team. Her performance in the qualifying rounds and finals demonstrated her resilience and skill, breaking an Olympic record in qualification and recovering from a setback in the final stages. Maddalena's silver medal ends a six-day medal drought for the U.S. in Olympic shooting competitions at Chateauroux, south of Paris.
