Actress Alice Hirson Dies at 95
Alice Hirson, a celebrated character actress known for her roles on TV shows such as Dallas and Ellen, passed away at the age of 95 at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills. Her death was due to natural causes, as confirmed by her son, David Hirson. Alice's career began in the 1950s, and she became widely recognized for her role as Mavis Anderson on Dallas and as Lois Morgan, Ellen DeGeneres' mother on the sitcom Ellen, appearing in 28 episodes. Besides her notable TV roles, she had a prolific career in soap operas, including One Life to Live and General Hospital. Her son highlighted that despite her extensive TV work, Alice always considered herself a stage actress first. She is survived by her sons David and Christopher, and a grandson, Daniel.
