BBC Announces Cast for Lord of the Flies Adaptation

The BBC is producing a new four-episode TV adaptation of William Golding's classic novel, 'Lord of the Flies', scripted by Jack Thorne and directed by Marc Munden, with filming currently underway in Malaysia. The cast features young actors making their professional debuts, including David McKenna as Piggy and Winston Sawyers as Ralph, with over 20 additional boys portraying various characters. Hans Zimmer will co-create the score alongside Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music. This adaptation aims to remain faithful to the original 1950s setting, exploring themes of human nature and the descent into chaos among the stranded boys. The project is produced by Eleven in collaboration with Stan, who will air the series in Australia, and is backed by Sony Pictures Television. Thorne expressed excitement about the opportunity, highlighting the cast's talent and the visual storytelling being crafted in Malaysia.
