Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Government for JPNIC Access Blockage
On the eve of Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Yogi Adityanath government for blocking the entrance to the Jayaprakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) with tin sheets, suggesting the government may be hiding plans to sell the property. Yadav, who previously had to climb over the gate to pay homage, accused the BJP of harboring ill will towards freedom fighters, labeling the closure as a reflection of the party's 'closed mindset'. He emphasized that the BJP's actions are condemnable, asserting that their guilt for not participating in the freedom struggle prevents them from honoring revolutionaries. The Lucknow Development Authority cited security concerns as the reason for denying Yadav access on the actual anniversary day. Additionally, the Samajwadi Party condemned the government's actions on social media, accusing it of 'dirty politics' and attacking democracy. Yadav plans to determine his next steps regarding the visit the following day.
