Russian Mi-8 Helicopter Crashes into Karelia Lake
A Russian Mi-8 helicopter crashed into Lake Onega in the Karelia region, resulting in the deaths of all three crew members on board. The wreckage was found 11 km from the shore at a depth of 50 m. Divers and a remote-controlled underwater vehicle were dispatched for search and recovery efforts. The incident occurred during a training flight and the status of the crew members is still unknown. The Karelia region is situated in the northwestern part of Russia, between the White and Baltic seas.
