Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden Inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 2025 class includes first-time inductees Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and Bad Company, alongside Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, The White Stripes, and Soundgarden. Chubby Checker, long known for popularizing 'The Twist,' is being recognized after decades of eligibility and outspoken advocacy for his induction. Joe Cocker, famed for his Woodstock performance and cover of 'With a Little Help from My Friends,' is also being honored posthumously. Salt-N-Pepa and the late Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will be recognized for Musical Excellence. The Ahmet Ertegun Award will go to industry veteran Lenny Waronker for his impact behind the scenes. This year’s diverse inductee list reflects the Hall’s ongoing embrace of a broad and evolving definition of rock and roll.
