Soundgarden Plans Release Unreleased Album Featuring Late Chris Cornell

This album, which remains unnamed, was being worked on before Cornell's passing in 2017 and marks a significant moment of creativity and camaraderie remembered by the band. After years of legal disputes with Cornell's widow, Vicky, over rights to unreleased songs, the parties reached an amicable agreement allowing the music to be potentially shared with fans. Guitarist Kim Thayil expressed that completing the album would be a meaningful gift to both fans and a tribute to Cornell's legacy. Soundgarden, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2025, have performed sporadically since Cornell's death, often with guest vocalists filling in.
