Gas prices across the United States continue to decline as the summer driving season comes to a close. In Oregon, the average price is $3.81 per gallon, down 4.2 cents from last week and 84.2 cents from a year ago. Kentucky's average is $3.13, reflecting a 37-cent drop compared to last year, while Georgia reports an average of $3.22, down 2 cents from last week. In Peoria, Illinois, prices have eased slightly to $3.73, which is 12 cents lower than last year. Nationally, the average gasoline price stands at $3.41, down 3.2 cents in the last week, with diesel prices also reaching their lowest levels since early 2022. Analysts attribute these declines to decreased demand and increased gasoline stocks.
