The latest installment in the Karate Kid franchise, 'Karate Kid: Legends,' starring Jackie Chan as Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, is now available for digital purchase or rental as of July 8, 2025, with a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release scheduled for August 26. The film follows kung fu prodigy Li Fong, played by Ben Wang, who moves to New York City and trains under the guidance of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso to compete in a karate tournament, blending kung fu and karate styles. The home release includes extensive bonus features such as cast reflections, stunt choreography insights, and a tribute to the legacy of Mr. Miyagi. Additionally, a limited edition 6-movie 4K collector’s set featuring all Karate Kid films, exclusive collectibles, and special packaging will be released. Ming-Na Wen, who plays Li Fong's mother, highlighted the passion of the director Jonathan Entwistle and the cast for the franchise, emphasizing its enduring appeal. While 'Karate Kid: Legends' is not yet on subscription streaming services, it is expected to arrive on Netflix within a few months after the digital release due to Sony's content deal with the platform.
