Alabama murder suspect arrested in Kent, Washington
A 50-year-old man wanted for murder in Alabama was arrested in Kent, Washington, after local police received a tip about his whereabouts. The suspect is connected to the December 11 homicide of 37-year-old Cornelis Smith in Tuscaloosa County, for which a warrant had been issued by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office. Kent police located the man and his girlfriend staying at a hotel on 83rd Avenue South, where he was spotted outside and detained without incident as he attempted to walk away from patrol vehicles. He has been booked into King County Jail under a Fugitive from Justice warrant and will be extradited back to Alabama to face charges.
