Mangaluru City Police arrested two individuals, Bharat alias Yakshith (24) and Dinesh Kurthamogeru (20), for pelting stones at MLC Ivan D’Souza's residence, an act motivated by anger over D’Souza's comments regarding potential protests against Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. The stone-throwing incident occurred on August 21, following remarks made by D’Souza about possible agitation reminiscent of Bangladesh if the governor sanctioned the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a land scam. Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal confirmed that a special investigation team utilized CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to track down the suspects, both of whom have prior assault charges. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their actions, which they impulsively decided to carry out after dining at a local hotel. The investigation is ongoing, with appropriate legal actions being pursued.
