SFPD Shoots Armed Man at Powell BART Station

San Francisco's Powell Street BART station was closed Friday morning following a shooting incident. Around 10:30 a.m., a man reportedly carrying a gun was chased by police from an alley near Mint Plaza into a liquor store and then towards the station where gunfire ensued. The San Francisco Fire Department and police responded promptly, with one individual suffering gunshot wounds and being transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. The police have not confirmed whether this was an officer-involved shooting. Both the transit station and nearby vehicle lanes were closed, causing significant transit delays. Authorities advised the public to avoid the area as investigations continued.
