Man Found Fatally Shot at Snellville Church

Oscar Alexis Cruz, 28, of Lawrenceville, was found shot to death early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Cannon United Methodist Church on Webb Gin House Road in Snellville, Georgia. Gwinnett County police responded around 6 a.m. following a 911 call about a person down and discovered Cruz with a fatal gunshot wound. Investigators say there is no known connection between the church and the homicide. As of Wednesday, police have not identified any suspects or provided a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing. Cruz leaves behind a young son, and a GoFundMe has been set up to aid with funeral expenses. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact detectives or Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta.
