Alex Yee clinched victory at the inaugural World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) race in Weihai, China, solidifying his lead in the series ahead of the Grand Final in Spain next month. Yee completed the race in 1 hour, 48 minutes, and 21 seconds, finishing 46 seconds ahead of France's Leo Bergere, with Brazil's Miguel Hidalgo taking third place in his debut podium appearance. In the women's race, Germany's Lisa Tertsch triumphed, while Great Britain's Beth Potter finished second, improving her standing against Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand.
