Missing Gastonia Man Found Safe After Alert

The Gastonia Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating 84-year-old Thomas Alexander Waterson, who was reported missing and may be suffering from cognitive impairment. Waterson was last seen leaving his home on Kinmere Drive in a gold 2017 Ford Escape with North Carolina license plate TVM1239. His vehicle was reportedly spotted in Cherryville, and he may be heading towards Fallston. Described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 127 pounds, he has gray hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt and white Nike sneakers with red and blue stripes. Authorities have issued a Missing Endangered Alert and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective D. Whitlock at the Gastonia Police Department. Early reports indicate he was last seen around 8 p.m. on February 12.
