Two Women Killed, Two Injured in Chicago Crash Near Rate Field

Two women were killed and two men injured Sunday night in a crash near Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood. Around 9:13 p.m. in the 300 block of West 35th Street, a red sedan driven by a 24-year-old woman lost control, crossed the median and collided with a westbound SUV; video showed the sedan overturned near the stadium. The 24-year-old driver and her 21-year-old passenger were taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead, and the passenger was identified by the Cook County medical examiner as Natalia Andreacevedo Mendez. The two men in the SUV were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Area One detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
