The 2025 New York Film Festival (NYFF) will take place from September 26 to October 13, featuring a diverse lineup across its Currents and Main Slate sections. The Currents section includes 16 feature films and 24 shorts from 28 countries, showcasing innovative and experimental works such as Ben Rivers' U.S. premiere 'Mare's Nest,' an enigmatic post-apocalyptic road movie, alongside other premieres by filmmakers employing a range of vintage and cutting-edge techniques. The Main Slate will present 34 films from 26 countries, including world premieres like Ulrich Köhler's 'Gavagai' and Bradley Cooper's closing night film 'Is This Thing On?,' as well as acclaimed works from Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, and Venice film festivals. Notable films in the Main Slate include Palme d’Or winner Jafar Panahi’s 'It Was Just an Accident,' Joachim Trier’s 'Sentimental Value,' and Park Chan-wook’s 'No Other Choice.' NYFF artistic director Dennis Lim highlighted the festival's commitment to showcasing film as an evolving art form that explores diverse cinematic languages and narratives. Screenings will be held across multiple New York City venues, including Lincoln Center, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, AMC Bay Plaza Cinema, BAM, and the Museum of the Moving Image.
