Marvel’s Wakanda Crowned New King, Eyes of Wakanda Season 2 Expected

In the Marvel Knights: The World to Come comic series, T'Challa loses the Wakandan throne and Black Panther mantle to Ketema, a young white boy revealed to be Everett Ross's biological son, after T'Challa spares Ross's life. This dramatic shift follows a series of tragic events affecting T'Challa's lineage and Wakanda's stability. Meanwhile, the upcoming Disney+ animated series Eyes of Wakanda, executive produced by Ryan Coogler and others, explores the adventures of Wakandan warriors known as the Hatut Zaraze on missions to recover Vibranium artifacts. Showrunner Todd Harris, in multiple interviews, has hinted strongly at the likelihood of a second season, emphasizing the abundance of untold stories within the Marvel universe and his creative team's enthusiasm. Harris also noted that the series draws inspiration from iconic action films like Conan the Barbarian and Gladiator, aiming to deliver a globe-trotting adventurous tone. The first season is set to premiere on August 27, 2025, and features a diverse cast including Winnie Harlow and Cress Williams.
