Amazon Launches Elastic VMware Service in US, Europe, Asia-Pacific

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), enabling businesses to run VMware Cloud Foundation environments directly on AWS without replatforming or retraining. This fully managed service allows customers to migrate their existing VMware workloads seamlessly to AWS, maintaining their VMware licenses and operational processes while gaining access to over 200 AWS services. Amazon EVS provides flexibility for companies to self-manage or partner with AWS experts and supports hybrid cloud scenarios such as disaster recovery, testing, and workload migration. The service is now generally available in multiple regions including the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, with notable users like Aeromexico and Alcaldía de Cali. AWS also introduced an EVS command-line interface (CLI) to help automate and manage the service, enhancing DevOps and infrastructure-as-code capabilities.
