Glen Powell, Ron Howard Team for Firefighter Film

Glen Powell, recognized for Top Gun: Maverick, will star in a new original firefighter film directed by Oscar-winner Ron Howard for Amazon MGM Studios. The story, written by Christina Hodson, follows two estranged childhood friends who must work together as elite firefighters to combat deadly wildfires threatening Texas while repairing their relationship. The project marks Howard's return to the firefighting genre since 1991's Backdraft, but this film is not a remake. Powell, a native Texan and producer, continues his Hollywood rise with upcoming roles in projects like The Running Man and Chad Powers. The film is backed by Imagine Entertainment, Barnstorm, and features a creative team including Brian Grazer and Jeb Brody. Hodson, also an executive producer, is noted for her work on Bumblebee and Birds of Prey.
