Annual Toy Drives Support Local Families

The Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA) is collecting toys for its 15th annual Santa’s Winter Wonderland event, aiming to provide gifts for children aged 1-17 from ARHA households. Donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards are being accepted until the event on December 14th at the Charles Houston Recreation Center. Similarly, People’s City Mission is hosting its annual Santa’s Workshop Christmas Toy Giveaway on December 14th, expecting to assist over 5,000 individuals through donated toys and free gift wrapping. In Bakersfield, a motorcycle rally is underway, raising food, toys, and cash donations for the Salvation Army, which has seen a resurgence in participation post-COVID, with an estimated 6,000-7,000 attendees. Additionally, over 250 bikers gathered at the Round Rock Housing Authority to support 88 families in need, showcasing the community spirit during the holiday season.
