Princess Cruises Receives 4,300-Guest Star Princess at Italian Shipyard
Princess Cruises has officially taken delivery of the Star Princess, its 17th ship and the second in the Sphere class, at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The 177,800-ton vessel accommodates 4,300 guests and features over 30 dining and bar venues, as well as signature entertainment spaces such as The Dome, The Arena, and The Piazza. Unique amenities include the Sanctuary Collection, a private luxury retreat with exclusive dining and an adults-only pool deck. The ship will embark on its inaugural 11-day Western Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona on October 4, 2025, before beginning a Caribbean season out of Ft. Lauderdale and later transitioning to Alaska voyages via the Panama Canal. Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha praised the craftsmanship of Fincantieri and highlighted the ship as a testament to innovation and partnership. The delivery ceremony was attended by senior officials from Princess Cruises, Fincantieri, and local government representatives.
