Cole Anthony Plans To Join Bucks After Grizzlies Buyout
Cole Anthony, a former first-round pick and key bench scorer, has agreed to a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers. Anthony spent five seasons with the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Grizzlies as part of the blockbuster Desmond Bane deal, but did not play any games for Memphis. Over his career, Anthony has averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds, and has ranked among the league's top bench contributors in points and assists over the past three years. The Grizzlies' decision to buy out Anthony's contract will also help create cap space to renegotiate and extend Jaren Jackson Jr., and may allow them to sign other free agents. The Bucks are seeking to add backcourt depth and additional scoring off the bench, with Anthony's addition providing flexibility and experience. The deal will be finalized after Anthony clears waivers, completing a busy offseason for the Bucks.
