SBU Detains Multiple FSB Agents Coordinating Russian Attacks in Lviv, Kharkiv Regions

Ukrainian security forces have detained multiple individuals accused of collaborating with Russian intelligence agencies to aid military strikes and sabotage efforts. In the Lviv region, a 57-year-old man recruited by the Russian FSB was caught gathering intelligence on military airbases by photographing and geolocating them for Russian attacks; he faces charges of high treason under martial law with possible life imprisonment. Similarly, an unemployed woman in Kharkiv was arrested for correcting Russian air raids after scouting Ukrainian Defense Forces’ locations, also charged with high treason and related offenses. Meanwhile, Russia’s FSB announced the detention of a Russian citizen at Sukhumi airport accused of cooperating with Ukrainian military intelligence to prepare sabotage by providing airport schematics, with the suspect confessing to plans for an explosion targeting VIP areas. These cases highlight intensified espionage and counterintelligence activities amid ongoing conflict, with authorities on both sides working to identify and neutralize threats. Confiscation of property and life sentences are the maximum penalties for those convicted of such acts.
