Rocket Factory Augsburg Cleared for UK Launch

Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) has received authorization to conduct rocket launches from the newly established SaxaVord Spaceport in the Shetland Islands, marking a historic milestone as it prepares for the first vertical rocket launch of a satellite from UK soil. The company is allowed up to ten launches annually, with the first planned for this year, and the RFA One rocket will carry payloads of up to 1,300 kg into orbit. This achievement is significant for the UK’s space industry, enhancing its capabilities in the global space economy. Despite previous setbacks, including a test rocket explosion, RFA's Chief Commercial Officer emphasized the importance of this launch as a turning point for European space innovation.
