Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh Chairs Textile Advisory Group Meeting on Cotton, MMF to Strengthen Value Chain

Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh chaired a Textile Advisory Group meeting focused on Cotton and Man-Made Fibres (MMF) to review progress on strengthening India's textile value chain. He emphasized the Mission for Cotton Productivity and the critical need to enhance cotton quality and productivity in line with the Prime Minister's 5F vision, which spans from Farm to Foreign markets. The Minister highlighted innovation, collaboration, and data mapping as key strategies for boosting farm productivity and enabling targeted, data-driven policy interventions. He called for a comprehensive gap analysis across the demand-supply spectrum to address industry inefficiencies. Minister of State Shri Pabitra Margherita urged stakeholders to work cohesively towards Vision 2030, promoting sustainable farming and advanced technology adoption to improve farmer returns and cotton quality. Industry leaders welcomed the government's proactive efforts to foster technology adoption, sustainable fiber promotion, and stronger farmer-industry partnerships.
