Michael Gargiulo Extradited for 1993 Murder

Michael Gargiulo, a convicted serial killer known as the 'Hollywood Ripper', was extradited from California to Illinois to face charges for the 1993 murder of 18-year-old Tricia Pacaccio. Gargiulo, who is already on death row in California for the murders of two women, appeared in a Skokie courtroom where he was denied pre-trial release. Prosecutors allege that Gargiulo, a friend of Pacaccio’s brother, killed her as she returned home from a night out, with her body found on the family’s doorstep. DNA evidence linked him to the murder years later, but charges were only filed in 2011 after new evidence emerged.
