Apple and Metallica Launch VR Concert Experience
Apple and Metallica are launching an innovative VR concert experience on March 14th, featuring high-resolution 180-degree video and Spatial Audio, exclusively on the Apple Vision Pro headset. The immersive concert, filmed during Metallica's M72 World Tour finale in Mexico City, provides viewers with unprecedented access to performances of 'Whiplash,' 'One,' and 'Enter Sandman,' capturing the band's energy and the audience of 65,000. The production involved 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras to offer various perspectives, from close-ups to wide-angle views. Drummer Lars Ulrich commented on the immersive experience's impact, highlighting its boundary-pushing nature. Additionally, an EP, 'Metallica Live from Mexico City,' will be available on Apple Music, and customers can demo the VR experience at Apple Stores. The partnership marks Metallica's latest foray into tech, following their collaboration with Epic Games for Fortnite.
