The historic Moravian Church Settlements, including sites in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Gracehill, Northern Ireland, have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This recognition, decided at a summit in New Delhi, marks the first cultural World Heritage status for Northern Ireland. The designation also includes sites in Germany and Denmark, highlighting the global influence of the Moravian Church, one of the earliest Protestant denominations. Representatives from the US, Danish, German, and UK governments were present for the announcement. The achievement is the result of a decades-long effort by local and international partners, aiming to preserve and promote the heritage of these historic communities.
