Judicial Recounts Ordered in Ontario Ridings Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore, Milton East-Halton Hills South

A judicial recount has been ordered in the federal riding of Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore following a narrow 77-vote margin in the recent election. Former Liberal MP Irek Kusmierczyk, who lost his seat to the Conservative candidate, expressed confidence that the recount could change the election outcome. The recount will be conducted by Justice Ross Macfarlane of the Superior Court of Ontario beginning May 20, 2025, with results to be published by Elections Canada. This recount is part of multiple recounts involving the Liberal Party, which currently sits three seats short of a majority. Separately, a judicial recount has also been ordered in the Milton East–Halton Hills South riding due to a 29-vote difference between the top candidates. Both recounts highlight the close nature of several electoral races in Ontario.
