Florida Man Charged with Kidnapping after Flying to Utah for Minor Marriage

A 33-year-old Florida man, Alex Pete Guy, was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping after allegedly flying to Utah to pick up a 17-year-old girl he had met online, with the intent to marry her. The girl's mother reported her missing, prompting an investigation that used GPS data from her AirPods to track her and Guy to Wyoming. Authorities determined that Guy had been communicating with the teen online for three months and was aware of her age. He rented a car, picked her up from her Utah County home without parental consent, and drove her out of state. Both Utah and Wyoming require parental consent for minors to marry, which Guy did not have. Guy is being held without bail and will be extradited to Utah to face charges.
