TCU Denies Canceling Chloe Cole Turning Point USA Event Amid Controversy

Texas Christian University (TCU) is at the center of controversy after conservative activist Chloe Cole accused the school of canceling her speaking event hosted by the campus chapter of Turning Point USA (TPUSA). Cole, who advocates against gender-affirming care for minors, claimed TCU denied the event space despite availability and was dismissive when pressed. TCU officials denied canceling the event, stating the event was never officially booked because the requested space was already reserved for another student event, and they offered to find an alternative date or location. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Congressman Chip Roy have expressed concern and vowed to investigate, with Paxton stating the situation "doesn't look like free speech." TCU has reached out to Paxton's office to clarify the scheduling conflict but has yet to receive a response. Cole criticized TCU's policies as inconsistently applied, arguing that conservative and Christian groups face more restrictions compared to others, such as Pride organizations, while TCU maintains it followed standard procedures regarding event booking and availability.
