Two Sentenced for Supplying Drugs Linked to Teen's Death

James Greaves, 19, and Taylor Rowsell, 18, have been sentenced after pleading guilty to supplying MDMA to a group of teenagers, which led to the tragic death of 16-year-old Lucy Hill. Greaves received a three-and-a-half-year sentence while Rowsell was sentenced to two years in a young offenders' institution. The court learned that the two met at Newton Abbot railway station on December 2, 2022, where Greaves handed over MDMA capsules to Rowsell, who then supplied them to Lucy and her friends. Following the ingestion of the drugs at an under-18 disco, Lucy collapsed and later died at a hospital on December 3, 2022. Her mother expressed profound grief, stating the loss has left an irreparable void in their lives. The sentencing underscores the severe consequences of drug supply among youth and the heartbreak caused by such tragedies.
