High-Risk Sex Offenders Released in U.S. and Canada

In Winnipeg, 34-year-old Richard Kofie Asante has been released from a maximum-security prison in Edmonton after serving part of his sentence for violent sexual assault involving a weapon and choking. Asante is considered a high risk to reoffend, particularly against adult women, and has not completed sex offender treatment. He will be subject to strict supervision and a 10-year weapons prohibition. Authorities emphasize public safety and urge caution, warning against vigilante actions.
