Kingdom God Church Leaders Indicted for Forced Labor, Money Laundering Across Four States
David Taylor and Michelle Brannon, leaders of the Kingdom of God Global Church (formerly Joshua Media Ministries International), were indicted and arrested on federal charges of forced labor and money laundering in a multi-state investigation spanning Michigan, Florida, Texas, and Missouri. The indictment alleges that Taylor and Brannon compelled victims to work long hours without pay in call centers soliciting donations, controlling every aspect of their lives, and punishing those who failed to meet unattainable financial goals. Victims, including personal servants called "armor bearers," were subjected to psychological abuse, sleep deprivation, restrictions on food and shelter, and were not allowed to leave the facilities without permission. The operation generated millions of dollars in donations, which funded a luxurious lifestyle for Taylor and Brannon, including luxury properties and vehicles. Both face multiple counts, with conspiracy to commit forced labor and money laundering carrying penalties of up to 20 years in prison and substantial fines. The arrests were part of a nationwide effort by the FBI, IRS, and Department of Justice to combat human trafficking and forced labor exploitation.
