Dexter: Original Sin Sets Streaming Record on Showtime

Dexter: Original Sin has set a new record as Showtime's most-streamed series premiere, with over 2.1 million global viewers within its first three days, surpassing the previous record held by Yellowjackets Season 2, which had 1.3 million viewers. The show, which debuted on December 13 on Paramount+ and December 15 on Showtime, follows a young Dexter Morgan, played by Patrick Gibson, as he navigates his dark urges in 1991 Miami. The premiere episode also achieved a significant social media presence, garnering 657,000 interactions across various platforms. Although critics' reviews have been mixed, with a 73% score on Rotten Tomatoes, audience reception has been more favorable, reflected in an 89% score on the Popcornmeter. The series is produced by Clyde Phillips and features original Dexter star Michael C. Hall as the narrator. Following this success, a sequel series titled Dexter: Resurrection is already in the works, set to premiere next year.
