While his economic record is strong, Jokowi faces criticism over issues like judicial independence and perceived political nepotism, particularly regarding his son’s political ambitions. The head of the Pro Jokowi organization has dismissed claims that Jokowi seeks a third term, asserting these are politically motivated accusations. Jokowi is set to step down in late October, with his successor, Prabowo Subianto, already elected to take office.
